this is a song that i wrote many moons ago.. it came about out of my love for both the ocean and the beatles.. always loved the riff to "and your bird can sing".. kind of reminds me of it!! i double-tracked the electric guitar to give it a 12 string guitar flavor.. next time..i will just buy a 12 string and play it once!! lol!! the synths were done in one take.. just turned on the recorder and found a sound i thought was "oceany", yet in a spacy kind of a way!! in fact, setting sail can mean your mind just sailing away (like mine obviously has!!). the bass is actually double-tracked also.. one track is done with the synth. the other with a rickenbacker bass guitar.. i purposely mixed the bass into the background so the drums can lead the way!!
